    Botox® Treatment for Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a result of muscle movement over a period of time. Facial expressions such
as being happy, surprised, angry or annoyed, cause pleating or creasing of the overlying skin over various regions of our face.

After years of crinkling and wrinkling, these creases or lines start to linger longer and can become more pronounced. Like the folding of a piece of smooth paper, permanent lines will form over time. As women tend to be more expressive than men’s, and whose skin is typically more delicate, these lines may appear exaggerated and more permanent.

    No more wrinkles!

Dynamic wrinkles are caused by contraction of muscles that are attached to the overlying skin. Each muscle contraction causes the skin to bunch together, forming lines between the bulks of the muscle.

BOTOX®, a purified protein, can visibly smoothen and soften facial wrinkle lines. It works by reducing the activity of the facial muscles and improvement can be seen within days. The most common locations for dynamic wrinkles are between the eyebrows i.e. frown lines, forehead lines, and lines on the cheeks near the outer corners of the eyes, referred to as “crow’s feet”. Administering ofBOTOX®into these specific muscles reduces their muscle action, thereby abolishing dynamic wrinkles. These obvious results are seen in just days!
See BOTOX® not just as treatment but more for prevention

As we age and our skin loses precious collagen, muscle activity eventually produces “cracks” in the skin, also known as static wrinkles. Static lines are notoriously more difficult to treat than dynamic lines, so it is best to prevent them before they form! Botox helps to prevent further wrinkle formation by reducing these muscle activities.

A common question that we are often asked in our clinic is “how long does BOTOX® last”? Just one session of BOTOX® will last 6-9 months. However if you have a series of sessions of BOTOX®, the effect will last beyond 9 months to a year plus! So the effects of BOTOX® can be accumulative.

BOTOX® also produces dramatic results on “sad lines”, “bunny lines” on the nose, the chin, and the neck.

Bruxism (teeth grinding / jaw clenching)

Some individuals are unfortunate to suffer from Bruxism – grind of teeth / clenching of the jaw while asleep). It is a very disabling condition as the individuals afflicted with such a condition would invariably wake up with severe jaw pain, headache and over the long term, develop dental problems.

BOTOX® is able to reduce the tone of the involved muscles and in conjunction with other forms of therapy, helps to relive the symptoms of Bruxism.

    BOTOX® Calves Contouring

Some Asian ladies are unfortunately endowed with large calf muscles that are further accentuated by their shorter stature. With BOTOX® contouring techniques, the calves can be reshaped to provide a slimmer outlook. The results can be astonishing.

Our patients have expressed satisfaction and more confidence, especially in wearing dresses and shorts after this treatment.

    Pore and Oil Reduction

This is one of the latest applications of BOTOX® that involves the placement of tiny micro-droplets of the solution into the superficial skin of the face. The micro-botox technique reduces oil production and is particularly useful in acne prone oily skin. Furthermore, such a procedure will close the pores and gives a tightening and lifting effect to the entire face, giving it a radiant look.

Treatment for Sweaty Palms, Armpits and Forehead

Those who suffer from sweating profusely from their underarms tend to stain their clothes shortly after they dress and give out unpleasant odor. Most patients with sweaty palms consider it a difficult social problem since every time they shake hands, they leave the other person’s palm very moist, a sensation most people find unpleasant.

BOTOX® has been used successfully in treating patients suffering from such chronic sweating under the armpits, palms and foreheads.

After the treatment you would able to wear your clothes and shake hands without the constant fear and stigma that has been attached to this condition.

    Other Applications of BOTOX®

    Migraine

BOTOX® has been found to give relief to migraine sufferers. It can be used to treat migraine headaches by injecting the area around the forehead muscle.

    Neck lines

Many people do not realize that the platysmal bands and horizontal neck lines betrays our age as much as the wrinkles on the face.BOTOX® is able to soften and reduce such appearance.

    Sad lines

Some individuals present with a stronger tone of the Depressor anguli oris muscles that give the ‘perpetual frowning’ or sad lines.BOTOX® readily reduces such lines and works best in conjunction with fillers.

    Peri-oral lip lines (Lipstick ‘bleeds’)

Smokers purse their lips on average seven times per cigarette (over one million times over ten years of smoking one pack per day). The repeated pursing creates vertical lines which create bleeding ‘lipsticks’ appearance.BOTOX® can improve these wrinkles.

    Popply (dimpled) chin

Such dimpling of the chin is very common amongst the middle aged and BOTOX® readily removes the unsightly appearance
