• Cosmelan Painless Depigmentation Treatment

    The Cosmelan Treatment

    The Cosmelan depigmentation treatment acts mainly by the elimination of melanin stains on the skin, mainly melasma or chloasma, but also works for other types of pigmentation.

    It is highly effective, on all types of melasmas, can be carried out at any time of the year, and is compatible with all skin types.  It is a safe treatment, and enables one to have sun exposure without fear of the stain re-appearing.

Many who have had chemical peels before will feel very apprehensive towards peeling because of the pain and stinging of those older generation peels, but Cosmelan 1 peel is so gentle that there is no pain at all!

    Results

    The skin begins to improve a week after starting treatment.  In most cases, the improvement is more than 70%.  The skin will continue to lighten with the continued application of the Cosmelan 2 treatment cream.  This cream will maintain anti-melanocyte activity on your face to maintain the results achieved by the Cosmelan depigmentation treatment.  Also, our patients have noticed that the texture of the new skin is very soft and the appearance is matt.

    Some redness of the skin may be observed during the treatment (similar to a bad sunburn).  Use of the Hydra-vital Factor K cream will effectively reduce the redness.

    Complementary Treatments

    Cosmelan can effectively lighten chloasma and melasma, which are usually hormone-induced pigmentation.  In addition, we recommend that for even clearer skin, addition of laser treatment for treating sun spots, liver spots and freckles as part of a depigmentation program will achieve the best results.  Use of laser also complements cosmelan in stimulating new collagen growth below the epidermis of the skin.
